McKenzie Acosta

“McKenzie is a graduate of Loras College, cum laude, where she double-majored in English Literature and creative writing and minored in publishing. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she interned in marketing and editorial departments with the Kendall-Hunt Publishing Company and McGraw-Hill Education, particularly focused on math and science curricula. She has won several national poetry competitions and spent her senior year at Loras as Editor-in-Chief of the national undergraduate literary journal, Catfish Creek.

After obtaining her B.A., McKenzie moved to Chicago, where she worked as a program assistant in the Center for Professional Development at the American Bar Association (ABA). At the ABA, she aided program implementation by securing quality back-end web production for over 500 annual online continued legal education programs. While working full-time, McKenzie pursued her passion for digital communication and technology by studying information design and strategy at Northwestern University, where she achieved a 3.91 GPA. She is currently working to complete her thesis on the advantages of artificial intelligence and is expected to obtain her Master of Science in December 2018.

McKenzie came to SocialSEO with over 10 years of experience in customer service and relations, and over two years’ experience in digital and web production. She lives in Colorado Springs with her husband and best friend, Andres, and their three dogs, Roxxy, Kqba (Cuba), and Bambi. On her weekends, McKenzie can be found writing her thesis and poetry, reading fantasy and sci-fi novels, hiking with her dogs, shooting, traveling, watching Netflix, and star-gazing.
